Frequently asked questions

How much bacteriostatic water should I add to Semax?

For a 5mg vial of Semax, add 2ml of bacteriostatic water. This concentration works well with a standard insulin syringe.

What is the typical Semax dosage?

Typical research dosages for Semax range from 200 to 600 mcg, administered 1-2x daily, intranasal or subcutaneous.

How long does reconstituted Semax last?

Reconstituted Semax should be stored at 2-8°C refrigerated and used within 21 days. Unreconstituted vials can be stored for up to 24 months.

How do I calculate my Semax dose?

Divide your target dose by the concentration to get the volume, then multiply by 100 for units on a U-100 insulin syringe. For example, a 5mg vial in 2ml of bacteriostatic water gives 2500 mcg/ml. The calculator above does this automatically once you enter your vial size, water volume, and desired dose.

How many units of Semax should I draw on an insulin syringe?

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1 unit equals 0.01 ml regardless of the barrel size (0.3ml, 0.5ml, or 1ml). Enter your reconstitution details in the calculator to see the exact number of units to draw for your dose.
